The Selection Series by Kiera Cass

Jan 27, 2017

My sister insisted I had to read the books and for a long time I didn't want to because now that we've grown we don't have similar taste in many things, and sometimes books are one of them. One day I just was bored and I just had finished another series so I thought 'why not?'.

I loved them even though I don't think they're great books. What I mean to say with that is that I don't think they are master pieces. The reason I like them (and the reason I think every hopeless romantic like me should read them) is simply because is a love story and that kind of stories, where you really want to find out whether or not the will end up together, have always caught my attention. Further than that I don't think there's a lot of story. It was kind of like a low key Hunger Games. It wasn't as big as the Hunger Games revolution but it definitely involves some politics too which is kind of funny considering the main male character is part of the government.

The story is basically about a girl that has a boyfriend but for many reasons ends up going to this contest where she'll have to find out if she's good enough to be a princess and marry the prince even though she's with another man. She won't be alone (as it is a contest) because she will have to compete against some other girls. Girls that will end up being her best friends which will make things even harder.

So many things happen all along the story. So many twits that I couldn't believe. It was surprising and full of things that you wouldn't expect and kept you reading until the end. It was very interesting and not boring at all.

The main male character was the biggest idiot towards the end. Like, you don't do that, man. You kind of develop even more feelings towards all the different characters than the main character.

At least all of this is what happened to me when I was reading it and I read the complete series in four days because I couldn't stop reading. I just wanted to find out what was going to happen.

Seriously read the series. You won't regret it.
